Something exciting is happening at Two Peas

Something exciting is happening at Two Peas. Over the last few months, we've been working hard to make improvements to the shopping and interactive experience on Two Peas. I'm so glad to see users like you enthusiastically tagging projects in the PeaNut Gallery, creating albums with our new Flash slideshow display, and getting new Related Product recommendations and Garden Project inspiration in our store. I'm especially grateful for all the positive feedback received so far.

But the best is yet to come. Very soon we will be launching a whole new look for Two Peas. The great new tools you've already discovered, plus the features you already know and love will be there in a new, easy-to-use website. It will be easier and better than ever to shop, search, post and chat on Two Peas. I think you'll find our new look not only a feast for your senses but another delightful reason Two Peas is the premier scrapbooking destination online.

To celebrate the debut of the new Two Peas, we will be offering special discounts on selected products in store plus a FREE gift with purchase for a limited time. Join our scavenger hunt--explore the new site, find key phrases, add new tags, start a blog and more and you'll be entered for a chance to WIN FREE prize packs from 7Gypsies, American Crafts, Autumn Leaves and KI Memories.

So stay tuned for more information on the new Two Peas and the fantastic fun and savings celebration!

Creating Garden: Garden Girl Rachel Ludwig Tries Digital

Creating Garden

Garden Girl Rachel Ludwig Tries Digital

Phew! I did it. My first real digital layout.

And I'm grinning from ear to ear...this is so fun!

I got lots of hand-holding from my buddy Kate. She walked me through creating the scalloped edge (see her great tutorial!). And Rhonna's tutorial for changing the color was a lifesaver!

1. Create a New 8.5x11" canvas in a photo editing program like Photoshop. Open lined paper from Rhonna Farrer's Peachy Keen Kit and drag and drop onto your canvas for a background.

2. Open your picture and drag and drop to canvas.

3. Resize vintage label to be 8.5" wide and drag onto canvas.

4. Add text and ampersand inside label for title.

5. Drag vintage label to canvas a second time and place so only the top border shows along the top of the picture.

6. Create a scalloped edge with patterned paper and place behind picture.

7. Drag tab from Tia Bennett's Juicy Kit over top of label from Rhonna Farrer's Old Stamp Kit to create a new tab. Place on top right of picture. Add staples.

8. Rotate the Word Art from Peachy Keen Kit slightly and drag as a top layer on the page.

9. Finish by adding journaling.

Weekly Challenge: Scraplift a Non-Scrapbook Page

by Kelli Crowe

Look around. See anything cool? I bet there are color combinations and design ideas everywhere you look.

I used the CD case for an album by Mika.

I used a scrap piece of cardstock to do the following:

1. Pick a point somewhere near the center behind where your photo would go. Draw all lines from that point.

2. I measure and draw the corner pieces first. I measure 2.5 inches from the corner out on the bottom and up the side. Then I draw lines from the center point to those spots. Do the same for all corners for consistency in the design.

3. Finish the other lines and cut out of scrap cardstock.

4. Add embellishments on top of your finished "star."
