With the beginning of May comes the date we all love so much, the day that we show everyone how much we are addicted to our craft, our hobby, our obsession: National Scrapbooking Day. On Saturday May 7th, everyone in the scrapbooking community unites to celebrate the hobby with crops, parties, events, sales and more all over the world.

Here at Two Peas, we are planning a 12 hour online crop sponsored by Chatterbox, Inc. from 9am to 9 pm CST. Each of the 12 hours will be hosted by a Garden Girl. The hours will be filled with chatting on a special message board, posting in a special gallery and a lot of trivia, games, contests and lots of prize give-aways! Chatterbox has a lot of fun prizes in store for everyone, and we are really excited to be sponsoring this event with them. There is also going to be a special mini themed Creating Garden going up, with a special theme and special projects.

A couple of weeks ago, Jeffrey and I spent a day in Chicago, attending a special business workshop/seminar. SO much of it is common sense, but when things are presented to you in a new way, light bulbs go off in your head and your vision seems so much more clearer. Jeff and I walked away from this all day event put on by the Disney Institute with a new look on our business, management, vision, leadership and our future. We talked and talked that day about the things we wanted for our small company, our visions for our future, and how we thought we could get there. We have plans for a lot of changes around Two Peas, things that may not be apparent to the average user, many are small things, operations things, customer service things, site things, all in all, improvements to our company. We are excited about our future, and its possibilities for us.

When did you start scrapbooking?
I did a few pages here & there with my mom & sisters, but never really got into it.

UNTIL, I put together a scrapbook for my dad in the summer of 2003. I did it digitally, very simply, but enjoyed it so much. Then, in the Fall, I came across 2peas & found others were digital scrapbooking. I dove right in & haven't looked back since.

How were you introduced to it?
My dear friend (who is a fellow pea) & sister told me about 2peas & I was in awe at the inspiration, wonderful community & everything I learned.

What are your sources for inspiration?
fashion; interior design; magazines; packaging; billboards; nature...

my family.

How do you get started on projects (layouts, etc)?
Usually, it will just POP into my head. I'll get an idea & I'll HAVE to scrap it. When I have a project for a deadline or something, I'll sit down & get out my sketch book. I have a whole notebook full of sketches I've done, ads I've collected, colors schemes I've made notes on, etc.

I'll just browse with music on, until I GET IT!

What things do you like to communicate through your work?
Feelings. Feelings for my family. My life. My loves. I want to preserve how I FEEL about things to pass on to my children & posterity. If they can look at it & laugh, cry, remember, & feel good about our family...then it's all worht it.

What have been your biggest achievements or greatest layouts or moments with this hobby?
When my kids look at the pages over & over & over again...loving every page. THAT is the BEST!

But, professionally, I'll have to say being inducted into Creating Keepsakes' Hall of Fame was pretty cool. Not to mention, working with Autumn Leaves & having my 'DREAMY" line with them. Becoming a Garden Girl and on a digital scrapbooking note; working with 2peas on the digital section/kits/challenges has been a*mazing!

What kind of goals do you have with your scrapbooking?
To continue in this journey of loving my family. I have really learned a LOT about myself in this scrapbooking, believe it or not. It helps me to keep focused on what's important.

When I have bad days with the kids, I sit down & scrap my feelings for them & it brings it all together..my love for my family.

Where do you scrap?
Well, I USED to scrap in an unfinished basement..but, we've recently moved & I actually have my own studio. I just painted it Flamingo Pink with black accents & it's soo inspiring to me to walk in...it makes me giddy!

Do you attend crops or conventions?
I love to scrap by myself...I get emtional when I scrap & enjoy that part of the process, so I prefer to not be around people. I like to think, soak it in.

But...I also have gone to crops & go to chat...I love talking, laughing & meeting people.

Where does scrapbooking fit into your life? do you scrap in the morning, evening, late night?
I scrap every second I get; whether it's in the morning; afternoon, evening..or middle of the night!

When do you do your greatest work?
night time...sometimes 3am.

What does your family think of your scrapbooking?
They are THE most supportive people ever! My mom loves it. She's a pea & gets on all the time to see my stuff.

My husband & kids are so supportive & love to see the new pages I do.

My kids like to help me with pages about themselves, & give 'input'. It's a fun process to do together. They'll tell me what they want to journal, etc.

Do you have a favorite product line, paper, sticker, or cardstock color?
um, Dreamy? :)

That I love this art. That I'm thankful I am creating these memories.
