I can’t believe that the school year is almost over. My daughter will be finished with Kindergarten in a few short weeks. I feel as though I have not been paying enough attention. I read everything that comes home and have a container for all of the art, updates and other things that come home indicating how she is doing. But all of a sudden, I feel like I don’t have a handle on her year. And here it is, almost over. How is it that time seems to go so fast with your children and when you were a child, it seemed that time crawled?

Spring is in full bloom here, my tulips are blooming, the grass is green and the trees are all leaving out. And yet this weekend, here in Madison, we got snow. It was a chilly Sunday morning, the first weekend in May, and we got a little more than an inch of snow. And today, it is going to be a high of 70 degrees. I took that last chilly Sunday, with the snow coming down, to lock myself away in my scrapspace and stay warm with lots of projects. With the weather getting nice, I will have so much less time to spend inside to scrapbook. Once summer hits us, all the outdoor activities will hit full force and I will probably hardly ever see the inside of my house. I think I better run and lock myself in my scrapspace for a few days so I can get a lot done before summer is here.

Carrie Colbert : Making Memories Cardstock Tags
I have fallen in love with these new MM cardstock tags!! :) They are so versatile, easy to use, and fun.

Shelley Sullivan : Scrapworks Frames
I really like Scrapworks' metal frames because there are several sizes and styles to choose from. These frames are a cinch to attach to your page because they have prongs on the back and attach like a stud. I normally use one style of frame per layout, but thought it would be fun to mix it up on this page about color.

Marah Johnson : Making Memories Foam Stamps
I have found a new love......Making Memory Stamps, all i can say is wow. This brings a whole new dimension to my scrapbooking and card making. They are so very easy to use. I found that sponging the paint on to the stamp produces a much more even image, than if you were to dunk your stamp into the paint....you have got to try these!

Margie scherschligt : Chatterbox Coming Home Book
One of my favorite products right now is actually a book. The Chatterbox idea book Coming Home is something I seem to pick up every day. Whether it is with my breakfast in the morning or with a cup of decaf late at night, I feel motivated to ink, tear, and wrinkle my pages into warm homey layouts.

Every time I visit this book, I find something I didn't see before: a technique or a way of embellishing that jumps right out at me. This page was inspired by the book Coming Home by Chatterbox, Inc.

When did you start scrapbooking? How were you introduced to it?
I started in the summer of 2001. I was quickly addicted when I found twopeasinabucket.com. Soon thereafter, I entered and won Hall of Fame. It all happened so fast!

What are your sources for inspiration?
I feel most inspired when I have good photos. Thankfully my husband enjoys photography. I like to get ideas from magazines and catalogs. There is inspiration everywhere!

What do you do to get started on projects and layouts?
I recently have changed how I do layouts. Since most of my scrapbooking is for assignments/work, I generally start with an idea and choose the photos that fit the look I want to do. My husband still does most of my journaling. Thank goodness I hate to write!

I also now keep very simple scrapbooks of the all digital photos I take. I get them printed in 5"x7" and simple adhere them to black cardstock and add computer journaling. Nothing fancy at all. This helps me to get my stories and photos recorded leaving me to do my "artsy scrapbooking" with only my favorite photos.

What do you like to communicate through your scrapbooking?
How thankful I am for the blessings in my life.

What have been your greatest layouts or achievements with this hobby?
I am just happy to have been able to turn this hobby into a career for me allowing me to quit my job as an engineer. I am most proud to be working with 2Peas, in the Garden and designing fonts. I also am honored to be a designer for Hero Arts (a great company) and contribute to the book program at Autumn Leaves (where I get to work with my friends).

My favorite thing to do is to travel teaching. I absolutely love it. There is no greater joy for me in my career.

What kind of goals do you have with your scrapbooking?
I really don't set goals silly, huh?

Where do you scrap? Do you attend crops or conventions?
I have a studio in my basement that my wonderful hubby built for me. It is heaven I basically live in here. Thankfully I have a new puppy to keep me company. I attend crops at my LSS, Hap's Memories. I never get anything done, but we have a great time!

Where does scrapbooking fit into your life? Do you scrap in the morning, evening, late night? When do you do your greatest work?
Since this is my job, I scrapbook all day long. However, I feel most inspired when working late at night. I don't get to do this much anymore, though I don't want to be working all day!

What does your family think of your scrapbooking?
Thankfully, they are very supportive. My husband never complains gotta love that! My brother is my biggest fan. My dad is very proud of the career I have made, and my mom attends shows with me once in awhile. I love that. Finally, my stepdaughters are already addicted to scrapping themselves!

Do you have a favorite product line, paper, sticker, or cardstock color?
Wow so many Sonnets, K&Co, KI Memories, Hero Arts, Versamagic, Scrap Wizard, 7Gypsies I could go on and on! And, I can't live without my Brick cardstock. Love that color!

What do you want the peas to know about you?
I would love for the Peas to know how inspired I am by them. I love to look through the Gallery and see the many posts. I look their daily and feel very inspired and thankful to be a part of it all. Blessings!
